Patriots Rally for 6-5 Win Over Ducks

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Long Island Ducks 6-5 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning after Daniel DeGeorge singled and scored on a fielder's choice by Joe Holden.

The Ducks took a 3-1 lead on back-to-back home runs by Matt Padgett (5) and J.R. House (10).

Josh Pressley's RBI double in the fourth inning cut the lead to 3-2.

Long Island added runs in the fifth and sixth on a solo home run (2) and RBI single by Kraig Binick for a 5-2 advantage.

Somerset answered with three runs on a Pressley home run (8) over both center field walls in the bottom of the frame to tie up the game.

The Patriots regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Holden.

Nic Ungs (3-4) picked up the win, allowing five runs on eight hits and five strikeouts in seven innings pitched. Bob Zimmerman (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing a run on two hits in an inning pitched. Andrew Dobies earned his fourth save of the season for Somerset, striking out two of the three batters he faced.
