York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution won the opening game of their series against the Camden Riversharks 10-4 on Friday night in front of 4,992 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium. The Revolution threw a balanced offensive attack at the Riversharks to gain win number 31 on the season and pull within one game of Lancaster for first place in the Freedom Division. York was led by Jose Herrera's two home runs to go along with a very solid outing by righty starter Matt DeSalvo.

The Riversharks got things going in the first inning when back to back solo shots by SS Danny Richar and former major league 3B Pedro Feliz gave them an early two run lead.

York didn't sit still as they answered in the bottom half of the inning when 2B Ramon Castro walked and scored on a home run by Revolution DH Herrera.

The scoring wouldn't stop there as Rivershark CF Drew Macias jacked a two run homer plating LF Noah Hall to give Camden a 4-2 lead through two innings.

The Revolution answered the following inning when Herrera belted his second blast of the game to tally up C Octavio Martinez and RF Chris Walker, and that gave York a 5-4 lead heading into the fourth inning.

York's offense brought in some more runs during the fourth as their bats continued to get a hold of Rivershark pitches. With 3B Vince Harrison slapping a single, SS Eric Eymann doing the same, and CF Scott Grimes taking a base on balls, Walker and Castro hit consecutive two RBI singles increasing the lead for York to 9-4.

The Revolution boosted their lead the following inning when Harrison blasted a solo shot, his fifth of the season, to give York a six run lead.

DeSalvo earned the win (4-3) after pitching seven strong innings, his final five of which were scoreless, allowing just one single in those final five innings.
