
Patriots' Radmanovich named player of the month

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that right fielder Ryan Radmanovich has been named the Atlantic League Player of the Month for June.
Radmanovich had a .348 batting average with 24 hits, eight doubles, five home runs, and 14 RBI in 21 games played in June. He had a .681 slugging percentage and a .494 on base percentage during the month.
Radmanovich is among the league leaders with ten home runs through 50 games played. He is hitting .270 with 30 runs scored, 44 hits, 12 doubles, and 28 RBI.
Radmanovich was one of the top offensive players in the Atlantic League during the 2005 season, finishing with a .319 batting average, 154 hits, 27 doubles, 28 home runs, and 89 RBI. Radmanovich's 28 homers set a new team single season mark, along with teammate Jeff Nettles.
Radmanovich's best offensive season for Somerset carried into the post-season, where he led the Patriots to the championship with his .400 batting average, three home runs, and nine RBI in six playoff games. He hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a tie with the Atlantic City Surf in a deciding Game Three of the South Division Championship.
During this off-season, Radmanovich played for Canada in the World Baseball Classic. He also represented Team Canada in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Radmanovich played in 25 Major League games for the Seattle Mariners. He has six seasons of Triple-A experience in the Mariners, San Diego Padres, and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.
The 2006 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday with a 7:05 pm game against the Road Warriors.
