Ducks to host Long Island Luau on Friday

(Central Islip, N.Y., July 5, 2006) - The Long Island Ducks and Adelphi University have teamed up to once again host the annual Long Island Luau Friday, July 7 at Citibank Park. The first 1,500 fans in attendance to that evening's 7:05 Ducks vs. Road Warriors contest will receive leis to add to the tropical vibe.
"Theme nights are some of our most entertaining nights of the year," says Ducks general manager Michael Hirsch. "We encourage all Ducks fans to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt and get into the spirit of things."
The evening will start off with Tahitian dancers that will showcase traditional Hawaiian dances while the ballpark will be transformed into an island paradise. Throughout the evening there will be a variety of events and promotions with a Hawaiian twist including a limbo contest and much, much more!
Fans are encouraged to come to the park decked out in their favorite Hawaiian shirts and/or beachwear.
