
Patriots finish home season with 5-1 win over Warriors

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Road Warriors 5-1 at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Thursday evening.
The Road Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Left fielder Brian Jarosinski, second baseman Teuris Olivares, and first baseman Mike Huggins all singled to load the bases. Jarosinski scored on a fielder's choice by catcher Sandy Aracena.
The Patriots tied up the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Third baseman Patrick Boran and designated hitter Henri Stanley both singled and advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Boran scored on a sacrifice fly by right fielder Ryan Radmanovich.
Somerset took the lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shortstop Kevin Nicholson doubled and scored on first baseman Lou Lucca's RBI single.
The Patriots added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 4-1 lead. Left fielder Larry Barnes hit a solo home run (17) to right field. Catcher Tommy Rojas doubled and scored on Boran's RBI single.
Somerset added a run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a solo home run by Radmanovich, his league leading 27th of the season. The home run is one shy of the team season record of 28 set by Radmanovich and third baseman Jeff Nettles during the 2005 season.
Patriots starting pitcher Keith Ramsey (6-7) earned the victory, giving up one run on five hits in eight innings pitched while striking out five. Road Warriors starter Kyle Goldwater (8-10) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on ten hits while striking out five in 6.2 innings pitched.
