Bridgewater, NJ - Somerset Patriots designated hitter Mike Lockwood hit a grand slam to break up Newark Bears starter Joe Gannon's no-hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 4-2 victory at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.

In the seventh inning, Patriots catcher Travis Anderson was hit by a pitch, first baseman Jim Burt drew a walk, and center fielder Pat Boran walked to load the bases. Lockwood followed by hitting an 0-2 pitch by Gannon over the right field wall for the Patriots first hit, a grand slam, to give Somerset a 4-2 lead. The home run was Lockwood's fourth of the season.
