
Pascanel Ferreras Named Astros Minor League Player of the Month

ASHEVILLE - The Houston Astros announced Pascanel Ferreras as their lower-level Minor League Player of the Month for the month of April. Ferreras was named alongside the lower-level Minor League Pitcher of the Month and newest member of the Asheville Tourists, James Hicks.
In April, Ferreras appeared in 17 games with the Tourists and hit .306/.427/.484 with three Home Runs and eight RBI. Pascanel ranked fifth in the South Atlantic League in on-base percentage, sixth in batting average, seventh in runs scored, and tenth in slugging percentage.
The Lawrenceville, Georgia native played collegiately at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. Ferreras was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 20th round of the 2023 draft.
Hicks is scheduled to make his Tourists debut later this week. The right-hander made four April appearances in Fayetteville and posted a 0.50 ERA prior to his promotion.
