Asheville Tourists News Release

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists won their third straight game on Sunday afternoon with a 6-3 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets. Asheville played a clean game and received production from a number of players throughout the contest.

Frederis Parra tossed seven frames for the Tourists. Parra surrendered three runs but never threw a pitch with his team behind. Parra has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last seven starts.

Offensively, Casey Golden took charge in the bottom of the first. Golden hit a two-out, two-run Home Run with a laser to left field. The ball left Golden's bat at 113mph.

Augusta plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth; however, Asheville answered with two of their own in the bottom half. Todd Czinege blasted a 463-foot Home Run to left-centerfield and Taylor Snyder plated Jeff Moberg with an RBI single.

Moberg added an RBI double in the sixth inning and later scored on a GreenJackets throwing error. Augusta could not handle Asheville's bullpen combination of Hayden Roberts and Tommy Doyle. The duo worked two scoreless innings between them with Doyle recording his league-leading 14th save.

The Tourists have now won three straight games after dropping the first two of this homestand. Asheville and Augusta are back at it on Monday night with the first pitch slated for 7:05pm.
