Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Asheville, NC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, lost 6-3 to the Asheville Tourist on Sunday Afternoon. Rain fell throughout most of the early part of the game, but there were no delays.
The Tourist got out to another hot start in game two by putting up two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The GreenJackets would comeback to tie the ballgame after a two-run RBI single from Logan Baldwin in the top of the fourth inning. The game wouldn't stay tied for long, as the Tourists would take the lead back by scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Tourist would add another two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 6-2 lead. The GreenJackets would make it interesting after Heliot Ramos tripled off the right field wall to bring in another run. In the end, the comeback would fall short, as Augusta dropped the game 6-3.
On the mound, Olbis Parra shut down the Tourists out of the bullpen. He went 2 1/3 innings, while giving up no hits and striking out two Tourists.
The GreenJackets will be back in action tomorrow night at 7:05 pm for game three of the series against the Asheville Tourists.
After the seven game road trip, the GreenJackets will once again be home against the Intimidators. Promotions include our last Thirsty Thursday, along with College Football night. Friday we will have an Auggie Bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. Saturday we will have a fireworks show and our SweetWater 90s themed jersey.
