Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Tom Zanoski and defenseman Drew Paris have been returned on loan from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. In addition, defenseman Roman Marakhovski has been released from the team.

Zanoski and Paris re-join the Gladiators after each appeared in one game with AHL Toronto. Zanoski finished the game scoreless with a +1 plus/minus rating in his fifth call-up to the AHL this season, while ECHL All-Star defenseman Drew Paris recorded his first two AHL points with two assists in the game.

Zanoski, a third-year pro out of Dalhousie University, ranks third on the Gladiators with 42 points despite playing in just 35 games with the team this season. He has also appeared in 20 total AHL games with four different teams this season, notching two goals and four assists for six total points.

Paris, a first-year pro, leads all ECHL rookie defensemen and all Gladiators rookies with 39 points in 59 games on the year. He made his professional debut in five games last season with the AHL's Rochester Americans following his final major-junior season in the QMJHL.

Marakhovsky, a 31-year-old Ukraine native, appeared in 14 outings with the Gladiators and recorded nine penalty minutes since he was signed early last month.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Thursday, March 11th @ Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
