Panthers Call For Larman

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled Amerks center Drew Larman. This will be the Larman's first promotion to the National Hockey League this season.

Larman, 22, left Rochester early this morning to join the Panthers and will be eligible to compete in tonight's NHL contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.

A native of Buffalo, Larman has collected 13 points (6+7) in 37 games for the Amerks. He appeared in 16 games last season with the Panthers, netting two goals. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward signed with Florida as a free agent on September 28, 2005.

Rochester's week begins on Wednesday, February 20th as the Amerks host the Albany River Rats at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. contest is the second and final meeting this season between the two teams and will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26.

Wednesday's contest falls on College Night. Students can show their college ID at the Box Office and receive a $16.00 ticket for $10.00 or a $12.00 ticket for just $8.00. The game will also be host to Family Night. All Rochester area school children, teachers, school employees, administrators and all families can purchase specially priced tickets.
