Palm Beach, FL - The Marauders (15-9, 47-47) were thwarted in their attempt to tie the South Division standings, falling 3-2 to the Cardinals on Sunday evening at Roger Dean Stadium. Casey Turgeon lined the winning hit to right field off RHP Montana Durapau (L, 3-1) with two outs in the ninth to score Luke Voit.

LHP Jayson Aquino started for the Marauders and was strong for seven innings. Aquino struck out six and recorded five 1-2-3 innings. Both runs against him scored on a two-run double by Carson Kelly in the second and Palm Beach turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead.

The Marauders scored both of their runs on wild pitches. RF Justin Maffei had two hits, including a double. 2B Erich Weiss and 1B Edwin Espinal also hit doubles for the Marauders.

Silfredo Garcia (W, 1-1) earned the win with three scoreless innings of relief. The loss for Bradenton ends a six-game winning streak and marks the fourth straight win for the Cardinals.

Palm Beach holds a two game lead over the Marauders in the South Division 2nd Half standings.
