FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 19, 2015) - The Jupiter Hammerheads edged the Fort Myers Miracle, 3-2, at Hammond Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Jupiter broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth inning against Miracle reliever Nick Burdi. With one out, Harold Riggins hit a solo home run to right center field to put the Hammerheads up 2-1. On an 0-1 pitch, Riggins launched a 386-foot blast for his fourth homer of the season.

Burdi (0-1) remained in the game for the seventh and allowed the eventual game-winning run. Yefri Perez reached on a one-out single through the right side. The Miracle cut into the Hammerhead lead in the bottom of the seventh on the first home run of the season from Mitch Garver. On an 0-1 pitch, Garver lifted a majestic 378-foot blast into the SunHarvest Citrus Lawn beyond the left field wall for a solo shot off Jupiter reliever Casey McCarthy, 3-2.

McCarthy tossed a perfect eighth. Jupiter brought in Tyler Bremer in the ninth. Alex Swim pinch hit for Michael Quesada and led off with a double into the right center gap. Ryan Walker entered the game to pinch run for Swim and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jason Kanzler. Bremer rallied to strike out Zack Granite and Engelb Vielma to end the game and record his third save.

Stephen Gonsalves started for the Miracle and received a no decision after five innings. Gonsalves gave up a run in the first on a two-out single from Avery Romero, but scattered six hits over the next four and two walks and two strikeouts.

Chipper Smith earned the win for the Hammerheads. Smith (1-2) went five and allowed one unearned run on three walks and four strikeouts. The only Miracle run against Smith was an RBI ground out from Tanner Vavra in the fourth.
