Boise Hawks News Release

Boise, Idaho - Javier Palacios delivered a gem and the Hawks offense picked up the slack as they took game three of the five game series against the Vancouver Canadians on Saturday night by a score of 7-4.

Palacios received the start and pitched brilliantly, picking up the win while giving up one earned run on four hits over six innings pitched.

In the second inning, the Hawks loaded the bases and scored two runs off a Terry McClure walk and a Marcos Derkes RBI fielder's choice, taking a 2-0 lead.

The Hawks added one more run in the third on a Kevin Padlo RBI double before the Canadians answered with an RBI double off the bat of Connor Panas.

In the sixth inning, Derkes scored on a pass ball to push the lead to 4-1 before the Canadians loaded the bases in seventh and manufactured two runs to bring the score to 3-2.

The Hawks scored three runs and pulled away in the bottom of the eighth inning, taking advantage of two wild pitches and a throwing error by the Canadians.

The Canadians added one run in the top of the ninth inning and brought the tying run to the plate but Cristian Quintin slammed the door and the Hawks took the middle game of this five game series by a score of 7-4.

The Hawks (16-27, 2-3 second half) will face the Canadians (18-25, 2-3 second half) again tomorrow night at 7:15 p.m.
