Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - The seventh inning did no favors for the Indians as the Emeralds scored four runs off of reliever Dario Beltre to take a three-run lead, ultimately winning the contest 6-4 on Thursday night in front of 4,675 fans at Avista Stadium. It was Baseball Card Giveaway Night presented by U.S. Linen & Uniform, 103.1 KCDA and The Splash.
Beltre was only able to garner two outs in his brief, yet exhausting outing. All four runs scored in consecutive at-bats, ballooning his ERA jumped to 11.08.
Spokane jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. All-Star Dylan Moore's sac fly scored fellow all-star LeDarious Clark. Spokane's third all-star selection, Yeyson Yrizarri, scored on a Jamie Potts line-drive single to right.
Overall, Yrizarri had a successful night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one walk. He's batting .284, placing him in the top 10 hitters of the league. Potts also grabbed two hits in three at-bats.
Indians starter Peter Fairbanks tossed six innings, allowing four hits and a two-run home run to Eugene center fielder Donnie Dewees. Despite the bomb, the long right-hander from Missouri lowered his ERA to 4.13, and collected three strikeouts.
Connor McKay hit a solo home run, his third of the season, in the ninth inning.
The Indians and Emeralds faceoff again tomorrow night, Friday, July 31st for Yoke's $1 Family Feast Night presented by Yoke's Fresh Market and 92.9 ZZU. All Cloverdale hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches and Pepsi products are $1 all night long!
