
Dust Devils Dash Past Hops

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils had a good bounce-back game, beating the Hillsboro Hops 10-3 Thursday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (2-2 2nd Half, 24-18 Overall) were down 3-0 going into the sixth inning against the Hops (2-2 2nd Half, 24-18 Overall) but would score four runs in the inning which proved to be the difference in the game. The Dust Devils tacked on six more in the eighth for good measure.
Jose Carlos Urena broke out of his recent slump with a double, two singles and an RBI for Tri-City. Urena had a stolen base as well in the game. Mason Smith had a two-run double in the winning effort. Carlos Belen and A.J. Kennedy added to the offensive output with two RBIs apiece for the Dust Devils. Peter Van Gansen had a good game as well with two hits and an RBI.
Nate Robertson had an RBI double for Hillsboro. Sergio Alcantara and Nate Irving each had an RBI as well for the Hops. Irving had three hits to go along with his RBI.
Tri-City starting pitcher Jose Castillo pitched five innings. Castillo had one strikeout while giving up five hits and three runs in his outing for the Dust Devils. All-Star Elvin Liriano (3-0) got the win for the Dust Devils. Liriano pitched two innings while striking out three and giving up only one hit.
Starting pitcher Tyler Bolton pitched five innings for Hillsboro. Bolton gave up three runs on five hits while striking out three batters. Troy Marks (0-1) received the loss for the Hops. Marks pitched one inning and gave up one run on two hits.
The Dust Devils and Hops will play the third game of their five game series tomorrow night at Gesa Stadium. It will be Seattle Seahawks Night featuring Blitz, presented by Gesa Credit Union. It will also be $1 Family Feast Night where all hot dogs, bags of chips, ice cream sandwiches and 12 oz. Coca-Cola products are $1 all night long thanks to CO-Energy.
