Pagliero Turns Away 40 In Bees' Win

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.- Juliano Pagliero made 40 saves as the Killer Bees defeated the Mississippi RiverKings 2-0 on Saturday night. The Killer Bees received goals from Brett Wilson and Aaron Lee, both in the second period. The Killer Bees end their long three-game road trip with a 1-1-1 record.

The Killer Bees scored first for the sixth time this season as Brett Wilson opened the scoring after the deadlocked first period. Wilson took a shot from the point that after a deflection beat RiverKings netminder Kyle McNulty at the 2:45 mark. With assists were Rob Cowan and Brett Clothier.

The Killer Bees struck again less than four minutes later when Aaron Lee beat McNulty with a backhand shot from the slot at 6:21. Lee picked up the puck in the corner and drove towards the slot on the backhand where he let a shot go that just nicked the inside of the post to the back of the net. Aaron Lewicki and Tyler Burton also earned assists for the Bees.

Juliano Pagliero was a major difference maker for the Bees making 27 saves through the first two periods, many of them quite impressive. Pagliero showed tremendous post-to-post movement and with eliminating RiverKings shooting angles by challenging shooters from the top of the crease. Pagliero didn't let the ‘Kings get one across in the third either making 13 saves, all told making 40 stops.

The Killer Bees return to the State Farm Arena next Friday and Saturday night as they host the Odessa Jackalopes. Both games are underway at 7: 30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at killerbeehockey.com or by calling 956-843-PUCK (7825).
