Padres Walked off at Nashville

The Nashville Sounds scored twice with two outs in the bottom of the ninth Monday to defeat the Tucson Padres 5-4 in a walk-off victory at Greer Stadium. The Padres are now 17-11 in one-run games this season.

Tucson pounded three hits in the first inning, including an RBI single from Brandon Allen followed by Gregorio Petit's sacrifice fly to go up 2-0. Hunter Morris brought around the Sounds' first run of the game in the third with an RBI single. Josh Prince hit a two-run single later in the third to put Nashville ahead 3-2.

Scott Moore delivered an RBI single of his own in the fourth to knot the score up at 3-3. Cody Decker hit a solo home run off the guitar-shaped scoreboard in left field in the sixth to put Tucson back in front 4-3. The home run was Decker's team-leading 13th of the season. The Sounds rallied in the ninth with four hits including Eugenio Velez's RBI infield single to tie the game and Sean Halton's game-winning single to left to seal the victory.

Kyle Heckathorn earned his seventh win with two scoreless innings of relief for Nashville. Miles Mikolas was charged with his second loss and fourth blown save after surrendering both runs in the ninth. Tucson starter Robbie Erlin allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out six in five innings.
