Tucson Padres News Release

The Tucson Padres were trailing by five runs Tuesday but came back to beat Fresno 11-9, winning their fourth straight game and completing a series sweep. It was the Padres first sweep since late April when they took four straight at home from Colorado Springs.

Pedro Hernandez impressed again in his second Triple-A start. Hernandez pitched five innings Tuesday, allowing two earned runs and has now won both starts since joining the rotation from Single-A Lake Elsinore. The Padres offense scored 11 unanswered runs at one point, including four in the fifth inning. Kyle Blanks extended his hitting streak to 16 games in a big way, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Andy Parrino went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in the win, and Logan Forsythe and Eric Patterson also had two hits each.

Tuesday's win was the third straight come from behind victory for the Padres, who trailed by two runs Sunday, seven runs Monday and five runs tonight. The Padres are now in third place, 12.5 games behind first place Sacramento, who they'll play starting Thursday. The Padres have an off day Wednesday.
