Round Rock Express - Series Preview Vs. Nashville Sounds
June 29, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK, Texas - Following the season's fourth off-day, the Round Rock Express return to action Thursday with the opener of a four-game series against the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers) at The Dell Diamond. The series runs through Sunday with a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch each night except Saturday when the game begins at 6:05 p.m.
Round Rock swept Nashville when the Sounds last visited The Dell Diamond in early May. The Express dropped three of four at Nashville in early June. 2006 Cy Young winner Brandon Webb is scheduled to start Friday night's game for the Express as he battles his way back to the Major Leagues following shoulder surgery late in the 2009 season.
Tickets are available through the Express ticket office at 512.255.2255 or online at www.RoundRockExpress.com.
Thursday is "Pink in the Park - Saving Second Base" night at The Dell Diamond in support of the Austin affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Round Rock Express Baseball will donate $3 from each reserved-seat ticket and $2 from each lawn-seat ticket purchased online by using the special offer code "PINK". Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game, and the Express will don pink jerseys. Visit www.komenaustin.org for more information.
The Express will hold the Austin Diamond District "Diamond Dig" following Thursday night's game. A select number of female contestants will be given spoons and will be allowed to dig in a specified area of the infield for a previously hidden item. The first contestant to find the hidden item will win a pink diamond ring from Austin Diamond District.
Friday night, there will be a silent auction of autographed memorabilia behind section 119 benefiting the Nolan Ryan Foundation; proceeds provide resources for youth, education and community development.
The St. David's Round Rock Express Summer Concert Series presented by Dell returns as Saturday former Foreigner front-man Lou Gramm takes the stage approximately 20 minutes after the game's conclusion. Saturday also is KRAFT Singles Block Party with discounted cheeseburgers before the game.
Sunday is H-E-B Kids' Day with pre- and postgame activities for kids age 12 and under. It also is Celebrate America Night, presented by Wells Fargo, as the Express honor the 235th anniversary of America's independence.
Friday's game will be broadcast live on YNN Sports Austin, available on Time Warner Cable channel 408 / HD 1509. Saturday's game will be broadcast on KBVO-TV Austin, available on Time Warner Cable HD channel 1525, DirecTV channel 51, AT&T Uverse channel 7 (HD 1007), Grande channel 18 (HD 318), Suddenlink channel 15 (HD 725) and Northland Cable 97.
