
Padakin Lifts Hitmen with Late Goal

Medicine Hat, AB - The Calgary Hitmen opened a season high nine game road trip with a 3-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers Tuesday night at The Arena.
Pavlo Padakin snapped a 2-2 third period tie just under six minutes into the final frame. For Padakin it was his 15th of the season but his first game winning goal.
Victor Rask with his sixth and Cody Sylvester with his team leading 26th also scored for Calgary who erased a 2-0 second period deficit.
The Hitmen turned in a strong performance firing 48 shots with Tigers goaltender Cam Lanigan making 45 saves in a first star performance.
Mack Shields made 24 stops in the Hitmen net to pick up the win.
Hunter Shinkaruk scored both goals for Medicine Hat, his 29th and 30th of the season.
The Hitmen, now 33-13-1-3, improve to 70 points to pull within five points of the Eastern Conference leading Edmonton Oil Kings with a game in hand.
Calgary is back in action tomorrow night in Swift Current against the Broncos.
