
Chiefs Nearing 1,000 All-Time Wins

The Spokane Chiefs next win will be the 1,000th in franchise history. Spokane has played 1,994 games and has posted an all-time record of 999-836 with 159 games finishing in a tie, shootout loss or overtime loss. Overall, Spokane sports an all-time winning percentage of .540.
The Chiefs broke into the WHL on October 4th, 1985 versus the Kamloops Blazers. Despite Grant Delcourt tallying the franchise's first goal 36-seconds into the game, Spokane would drop a 7-4 decision.
Their first win came two nights later at New Westmister, BC, the franchise that would later move to Tri-City and become the Americans, when Brent Gilchrist recorded a hat trick. The Chiefs went 30-41-1 in their first season.
Spokane has won 227 games over the past six seasons, including this one. Twice, they have won 50 games (1995-96 and 2007-08) and have won more than 45 games eight times.
In total, 453 players have suited up as a Chief in their 28 years of existence. Brandin Cote's 352 career games played are tops on the franchise's all-time list while 16 players appeared in just one game.
Spokane's 2,000th game in franchise history will take place on Sunday, February 10th versus the Victoria Royals. The Chiefs skated to a 2-2 tie with the Seattle Thunderbirds on March 5th, 1999 in their 1,000th game.
