Dayton Dragons left-handed pitcher Packy Naughton has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 9-15.

Naughton earned the win in both starts he made during the week, allowing just two runs in 14 innings. He had his best career start on July 9 at Great Lakes when he tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing just two base runners (both on hits) with nine strikeouts. Naughton also earned the win in Dayton vs. Kane County yesterday, allowing two runs in six innings in the Dragons 5-3 victory. He had a 24-inning scoreless streak snapped in the third inning yesterday.

Naughton, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, played college baseball at Virginia Tech University and was the Reds ninth round draft pick in 2017. He has spent the entire 2018 season with the Dragons and currently leads the Midwest League in innings pitched.

Over Naughton's last four starts, he has posted a 0.67 earned run average (27 innings, two runs allowed).
