
P-Bruins wrap up regular season

Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins concluded the 2001-02 regular season on Sunday evening in Lowell, Massachusetts, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Lowell Lock Monsters. The Bruins finished the season at 35-33-8-4 (82 points), putting them in third place in the East Division and 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Bruins will visit the Canadian Division's St. John's Maple Leafs in a best-of-three qualifying round series beginning on Wednesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 11th. If a deciding Game 3 is necessary, it would be played on Friday, April 12th. The series will be played at the Brampton Coliseum in Brampton, Ontario. Providence and St. John's did not play each other in the regular season. All games will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.
West Warwick native and former Providence College standout Drew Omicioli tallied his second goal of the season for the Black and Gold. Rookie goaltender Dan Lombard, making his first AHL start, stopped 31 shots in the loss.
