Flames Recall Christie and Eakins

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames Vice-President & General Manager Craig Button announced today forward Ryan Christie and defenceman Dallas Eakins have been recalled to the Calgary Flames from the Saint John Flames and Chicago Wolves respectively.

Christie, a 6'3" 200 lbs. winger, played in 77 games with Saint John this season scoring 21 goals, 18 assists for 39 points while adding 61 penalty minutes. Christie was fourth on Saint John in points (39), tied for first in goals (21) and first in power play goals (13). Christie played five NHL games with the Dallas Stars during the 1999-00 campaign. The Flames signed the native of Beamsville, ON as a free agent on July 1, 2001. Christie was Dallas' fourth choice, 112th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

Eakins, a 35 year-old rearguard, played in 53 games with the Chicago Wolves this season posting 16 points (2 goals, 14 assists) and 58 penalty minutes. Eakins played in two games with Calgary earlier this season. In 119 NHL career games Eakins has posted nine assists and 206 penalty minutes. The Flames signed Eakins as a free agent on July 27, 2000. Eakins was Washington's 11th choice, 208th overall, in the 1986 Entry Draft.
