Phantoms Open Calder Cup Playoffs on Tuesday at Home

(PHILADELPHIA, April 7, 2002) - The Philadelphia Phantoms will begin their quest for a second Calder Cup title this Tuesday, April 9 at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Rochester Americans at the First Union Spectrum.

Tuesday's game (Ticket A) is the opener of a best-of-three Western Conference qualifying round series between the eighth-seeded Phantoms and No. 9 Americans. Games Two and Three (if necessary) will also be played at the First Union Spectrum on Thursday, April 11 (Ticket B) and Friday, April 12 (Ticket C).

Individual-game tickets and 10-game strips are on sale. Tickets for individual Phantoms playoff games are $13, $17 and $19 for adults, and $8 for all children 14 and under.

Individual-game playoff tickets are available at the First Union Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations throughout the Delaware Valley. The 10-game packages are $125, $160 and $180 for adults, and just $80 for kids. They can only be purchased by calling the Phantoms sales office at 215-465-4522.

Philadelphia, which won the Calder Cup championship in 1998, finished the season with a 33-27-15-5 record (86 points). Rochester enters the playoffs with a 32-30-15-3 mark (82 points).

These two teams also met last year in the first round of the playoffs, as Philadelphia knocked off the top-seeded Americans three games to one.
