P-Bruins Defeat Phantoms 9-3

Providence, R.I. - The Providence Bruins defeated the Adirondack Phantoms by a final score of 9-3 this afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Seth Griffith had four goals while Tyler Randell, Jared Knight, David Warsofsky, Alexander Khokhlachev scored for the P-Bruins. Malcolm Subban made 30 saves in the victory.

The P-Bruins struck first at the 7:36 mark. Griffith got a hard wrist shot off as the puck went sailing past Phantoms' goaltender Carsen Chubak's stick side and into the net. Alexander Khokhlachev and Blake Parlett were given the assists. They would score again at the 16:39 mark when a shot by Randell trickled under the pad of Chubak. The assists went to Knight and Rob Flick.

In the second period, Adirondack got on the board with a goal from Tyler Brown at the 2:06 mark. Brown's second goal of this season was set up by teammate Kris Newbury. Providence would get another goal at the 7:03 mark when Knight scored his fourth goal this season at the 7:03 mark to make it 3-1. Khokhlachev and Randell had the assists. Griffith scored his second of the game on the power play at the 9:22 mark. Khokhlachev and Craig Cunningham were awarded the assists. The Phantoms made an immediate goaltending change after that goal; replacing Chubak with Yanni Danis. Griffith would get the hat-trick and his 16th on the season at the 16:57 mark when he picked up the puck and slipped it past Danis. Khokhlachev got an assist and Joe Lavin received his first point as a P-Bruin with the second assist on the play. Randell would also score his second of the game on the power play at the 17:58 mark to make it 6-1. Warsofsky and Matt Lindblad were given the assists for Randell's fourth of the season.

Providence continued to dominate into third period, specifically on the power play. Griffith scored his fourth goal of the night just 37 seconds into the period during the 5-on-3 advantage. Lindblad and Randell got the assists. They would score again on the power play at the 1:35 mark when Warsofsky got his fifth this season with the assist going to Trotman. Khokhlachev scored at the 4:51 mark to make it 9-1, while Griffith and Moore had the assists. Adirondack got on the board again at the 7:32 mark. Derek Mathers scored his first of the season off a feed from Mark Alt. Zack Fitzgerald had the second assist. The Phantoms would make it 9-3 when Steven Delisle scored his first this season at the 15:10 mark of the final frame. Rob Bordson and Marcel Nobels had the assists on the power play goal. Providence dominated throughout the game to secure the impressive 9-3 victory.

Providence went 4-for-5 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill. Subban blocked 30 of 33 shots. Adirondack's Chubak made 16 saves while Yanni Danis made 16 saves as well.

The P-Bruins return to action on Friday, March 14 at 7:05pm at the Dunkin' Donuts Center to face off against the Worcester Sharks. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Hasbro Toy courtesy of Hasbro.
