
P-Bruins Defeat Falcons 4-1

Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins defeated the Springfield Falcons 4-1 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Jamie Tardif, Josh Hennessy and two goals from Zach Hamill. The P-Bruins are back at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Portland Pirates.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 17:06 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. David Warsofsky had the puck at the right point and sent it halfway down the boards for Josh Hennessy. He shot the puck towards the goal where it was redirected into the net by Tardif for his first goal of the season. The P-Bruins led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Providence made it 2-0 at the 19:57 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Kevan Miller had the puck at the left point and passed it to Warsofsky who held the puck halfway down the boards and passed it to Hennessy in the right faceoff circle. He tossed the puck in front of the goal, where it bounced off Falcons net minder Paul Dainton and into the net for his second goal of the season Providence led 2-0 going into the second intermission.
The Falcons pulled within a goal at the 9:07 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Dane Byers netted his second goal of the season, with Nick Drazenovic and Brent Regner picking up the assists. The P-Bruins regained their two-goal advantage at the 14:48 mark. Hamill stole the puck in the neutral zone giving himself a breakway. He shot the puck through the legs of Dainton and into the net for his first goal of the season. Providence finished up the scoring at the 19:41 mark with an unassisted empty net goal from Hamill, his second of the game and the season, as the P-Bruins went onto the 4-1 victory.
Anton Khudobin stopped 26 of 27 shots for the P-Bruins, while Paul Dainton made 16 saves for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 2-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
