Owlz Rally Late, Win 5-3

A pitchers duel took the Owlz through most of Thursday night's game against the Great Falls Voyagers. Orem scored in consecutive innings, winning the final game of the series 5-3.
Jeremy Rhoades began the game for the Owlz , pitching three scoreless innings and only allowing one hit and a walk. However, the Owlz were unable to take advantage of this great start against opposing pitcher Zach Thompson as he went five innings allowing six hits and striking out four.
In the top of the sixth-inning, the Voyagers' bats came alive, as they battled against Austin Robichaux, scoring a run on a fielding error by Caleb Adams and then a couple off ground ball singles.
The Owlz answered back in the bottom of the inning, facing pitcher David Trexler, with a home run to deep center by Wendell Soto, his sixth on the season. Andrew Daniel reached on a double to left field and later scored on a Fran Whitten single.
As Owlz pitcher, Jordan Kipper, replaced Robichaux in the top of the seventh-inning, the Voyagers threatened with runners in scoring position, but were unable to score as Zach Fisher ended the inning with a fly out to left field.
In the bottom of the seventh-inning, Tyler Palmer reached on a throwing error and later scored on a Caleb Adams single to give Orem a 4-3 lead.
Orem gained an insurance run, which would later prove to secure the win, in the bottom of the eighth-inning as Michael Strentz singled to right field and then stole second, later scoring on a Michael Hermosillo sacrifice fly.
Although rain threatened in the sixth-inning, the Owlz were able to claim game three of the series against the Great Falls Voyagers. They will face the Billings Mustangs on Friday night at 7:05 P.M.
