Idaho Falls Wins 14-1 to Claim Series

The Idaho Falls Chukars (9-8) trounced the Helena Brewers (7-11) 14-1 on Thursday to take the three-game series.

The Chukars got off to a quick start with three runs in the first. Robert Pehl highlighted the frame with a two-run double and later scored on an RBI single from Samir Duenez off Cy Sneed (0-2).

Sneed pitched three innings, giving up five runs on five hits and walking two batters in the start. The Brewers as a staff would walk nine batters in the game.

The lone Helena run crossed the plate in the bottom of the second. Luis Aviles walked with two outs, stole second and came in on an RBI single from Tucker Neuhaus off Eric Skoglund (1-2).

Skoglund pitched six solid innings in the start, giving up just one run on seven hits and striking out six.

Helena was able to pick up nine hits in the game, but scattered them throughout, coming up with multiple hits in just one inning.

The Brewers have lost seven straight series against the Pioneer League South Division.

The Brewers will now host the Ogden Raptors in a four-game series at Kindrick Field. First pitch on Friday is set for 7:05 p.m.
