Northern Colorado Owlz News Release

Orem lost game two of a short two-game series with the Idaho Falls Chukars, 17-6, on Friday night.

The Chukars jumped out to an early two-run lead in the first inning off of a two run RBI single by Robert Pehl.

The Owlz answered back in the bottom half of the first inning when Michael Strentz drove in Andrew Daniel with a hit to right field.

In the third inning the Owlz tied the game when Wendell Soto scored off a Ryan Seiz line drive to center field. They then took the lead when Andrew Daniel scored on a single to center field.

Idaho Falls would run away with the game, however, scoring multiple runs in three consecutive innings. The Chukars scored two runs in the fourth inning, five runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning. Then in the eighth, they added 5 more runs to extend their lead.

On a night when the Owlz struggled to produce offensively, Ryan Seiz went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Outfielder Quinten Davis saw the mound in the ninth inning for the Owlz for the first time in his professional career. Davis retired the Chukars in order, getting three groundouts in the 1-2-3 inning.

The Owlz hit the road to begin a two-game series with Grand Junction. The first game of that series will be Saturday at 7:05 and can be heard at audio.oremowlz.com.
