
Owlz Close out First Half with 6-3 Loss

The Owlz lost game one of a short two-game series, 6-3, to the Grand Junction Rockies Saturday night.
The Owlz got things going in the first inning with two quick runs. Michael Strentz tripled to right field and score Andrew Daniels then an error on the relay throw by shortstop Max George allowed Strentz to score.
After Grand Junction tied the game in the bottom half of the first inning the Owlz reclaimed the lead in the second inning. Wendell Soto drove in RJ Santigate on an RBI groundout.
Grand Junction scored one run in the second and one in the third inning to take the lead. They then extended their lead to three in the seventh inning.
Michael Bolaski got the start on the mound tonight and in five innings he only gave up three hits against the powerful Rockies offense. Ramon Rodriguez and Eduardo Paredes took the mound in relief Saturday and struck out five batters over three innings.
Strentz finished the night 3-for-4 which included the RBI triple.
The Owlz will face Grand Junction again tomorrow to close out the short series at 4:05. That game can be heard on audio.oremowlz.com.
