The Helena Brewers (1-0) used early offense to top the Missoula Osprey (0-1) by a score of 14-5 on Saturday and force a rubber match in the finale of their three-game series.

The Brewers would score 12 runs over the first four innings, coming up with nine hits in those frames.

Carlos Hernandez (2-3) was roughed up in his two and two thirds innings on the hill, giving up eight runs on six hits and walking two.

Luis Aviles hit his second home run of professional baseball, a two-run shot to score Tucker Neuhaus. Both of Aviles' pro homers have come in the past week. He was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Jorge Ortega (2-1) did struggle closing out his final inning in the start, but still managed the win. He would go six innings, giving up five runs on nine hits and striking out five.

Helena is now at 1-0 in the second half of the Pioneer League season and in a tie for first place in the North Division with the Great Falls Voyagers.

The Brewers and the Osprey will face off in the finale of their three-game series Sunday at Kindrick Field. First pitch in their rubber match is set for 1:05 p.m.
