Owen Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Shane Owen of the Indy Fuel is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 4-10. It is the second time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.

The 25-year-old went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .973 in two appearances last week.

Owen stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over Evansville on?Saturday and made a season-high 39 saves in a 3-2 victory at Wheeling on?Sunday.

A?native of Shanty Bay, Ontario., Owen is 7-12-0 in 20 appearances with the Fuel this season with one shutout, a 2.36 goals-against average and a save percentage of .920.

Owen has appeared in 116 career ECHL games with Indy, Stockton, Utah, Alaska, South Carolina and Florida posting an overall record of 43-51-4 with four shutouts, a 2.98 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905.

During his junior career, he helped Moncton claim the 2010 QMJHL?President's Cup title and a spot in the Memorial Cup Finals.

The Fuel return to action this Friday hosting Rapid City at 7:35 pm, Orlando at 7:35 pm Saturday and rounding out the week with Wheeling on Sunday at 3:05 pm. All games are at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Radio coverage begins with the Morellis Cleaners pregame show 15 minutes prior to puck drop on CBS Sports 1430 AM.
