Oshawa Generals News Release
The Generals were hungry for a win after coming up empty in the last three games on the road. After a slower start to the game, the Generals bounced back in the second and took the 4-3 win in overtime over the Bulls. Jeremy Brodeur, who was fresh off two consecutive shutouts, was in net for the Generals, while Charlie Graham was in for Belleville.
The Bulls took an early lead with a power play goal by David Tomasek only 3:53 into the period after Sam Harding sat for slashing. Riley Stillman laid a huge hit on Brett Gustavsen, which lead to Brandon Saigeon and Stillman dropping the gloves. Saigeon was given an extra two minutes for instigating but the Bulls kept their lead. The fights didn't stop there either as Brent Pedersen and Justin Lemcke had a tilt of their own. The Bulls went to their second power play after Chris Carlisle sat for tripping and Maurizio Colella scored his first OHL goal with the man advantage to make it a 2-0 game. The Generals began to find their momentum later into the period after Michael Dal Colle put the team on the scoreboard with assists by Anthony Cirelli and Tobias Lindberg. Cassels' assists gave him his 50th point in 30 games played. The pressure continued when Subban sat for tripping and gave the Gens an extra man. Lindberg picked up his third point of the night with a power play goal with only 22 seconds to go in the period. After two goals in the second, the Generals went into the third leading by one.
Dal Colle was called for interference only 34 seconds into the third but the Generals held their one-goal lead.
