Otters Go for 11th Straight Win over Rascals on Thursday Night

(O'FALLON, MISSOURI) - The first place Evansville Otters (39-23) continue a six game roadtrip at the first place River City Rascals (39-25) on Thursday night.

First pitch is set for 7:05 pm CDT at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski will have the call beginning at 6:45 pm CDT.

It is Back to School Night, Backpack Giveaway and Teacher Appreciation Night at the ballpark.

Evansville will have the left-hander Conor Kerins (0-0, 5.40 ERA) on the mound against River City righty Jose Samayoa (1-0, 0.00).

Kerins will be making his second career start.

The Otters are 71-85 all-time against the Rascals. Evansville won all nine meetings between the two teams in 2013, and have now won 10 straight against River City. The last Rascals win against Evansville was August 30, 2012.

The Otters won the series opener 13-1 on Wednesday at River City. Evansville utilized a seven run fifth inning and a season-high tying four home runs in the victory.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Infielder Phillip Wilson is on a 10 game hitting streak, second longest for an Otter this season (J.R. Higley - 12).

Houck has 16 home runs this summer, tied for 3rd most in Otters single season franchise history.

The Otters are a Frontier League best 18-10 on the road this season.
