Evansville Otters News Release
Evansville, Ind. - Evansville let golden opportunities slip through their fingers all night as they fell in their season finale to the River City Rascals 5-3. An inability to score runs from third base with less than two outs doomed Evansville, who stranded 11 runners on the bases including nine in scoring position.
Former Purple Ace Kai Tuomi (3-5) got the start pitching the first six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits. At the plate Matt Wille led the Otters going 3-4 with a double and ends the season with a 10 game hitting streak while Gered Mochizuki tripled to hit safely in his final 13 games.
The Otters end the season with a disappointing 39-57 record, and after opening the season with a nine game winning streak, finish the season losing their last nine.
