Miners To Open Post-Season Friday In Windy City

MARION, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Miners will open their first ever post-season series on Friday, Sept. 5 at Windy City. Southern Illinois will host the ThunderBolts for Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-five series. Those two Miners home playoff games are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8 and Tuesday, Sept. 9. Both rounds of the playoffs are best-of-five series. The complete schedule with dates and times for the first round series is listed below.

First Round

Game 1 at Windy City, Friday, Sept. 5 7:05

Game 2 at Windy City, Saturday, Sept. 6 7:05

Game 3 at Rent One Park, Monday, Sept. 8 7:05

Game 4 at Rent One Park, Tuesday, Sept 9 7:05 (if necessary)

Game 5 at Windy City, Thursday, Sept 11 7:05 (if necessary)

Playoff tickets are also now on sale at the Rent One Park box office or by calling the Miners ticket office at 618-998-8499. Should the Miners win the series against Windy City, they will play in the Frontier League Championship Series beginning on Saturday, Sept. 13. They would face the winner of the Kalamazoo vs. Gateway series. The Miners 2008 post-season is presented by Peoples National Bank.
