Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA -- Here's one contest that cuts the mustard.

The Ottawa Lynx game Tuesday, July 3rd will be the first 25-Cent Hot Dog Night of the season. With delicious ballpark dogs costing only a quarter, you might be so inclined to eat as many as you can. Members of the Ottawa media will do just that.

Eaters will compete on behalf of their favourite charities to see who can eat the most hot dogs. Eating will begin in the middle of the first inning and run until the middle of the 6th inning.

Donations buckets will be placed at the table. Fans can come over and cheer for not only their favourite contestant but also their favourite charities by dropping donations into the bucket. Eaters will also bring items for a silent auction, which will take place during the eating period. All the money donated in the buckets and through the silent auction will go directly to the eaters' charities. The big wiener will be crowned in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The following media personalities will be competing:

-- Ric Davey from The Ottawa Citizen, eating for CanWest Raise-A-Reader

-- Jacqui Delaney from 106.9 The Bear FM, eating for The Bear's Children's Fund

-- Tony House from Rogers Television 22, eating for The Boys and Girls Club

-- Terry Marcotte from CTV Ottawa, eating for The Max Keeping Foundation

-- Mauler from Hot 89.9 FM, eating for The Candlelighters

This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
