EXPLOSIVE INDEPENDENCE DAY PLANNED AT THE DBAP
Celebrate Independence Day Weekend with America's Favorite Minor League Team...your Durham Bulls! Our Fourth of July party runs non-stop beginning on Friday, June 29th with our first of FIVE fireworks shows. Plus, bring the kids out to meet Patrick from the hit TV show SpongeBob SquarePants all weekend long. Fireworks shows run after Durham Bulls games on June 29th, June 30th, July 2nd, and July 3rd. Then on Independence Day, your Durham Bulls present USA Baseball as they take on Japan at a special game time of 6 PM. Afterwards, enjoy the biggest fireworks show of the season! JULY 3RD CELEBRATION FEATURES FORMER MVP
Don't miss your chance to meet 1983 World Series MVP Rick Dempsey at the July 3rd game between the Durham Bulls and Toledo Mudhens presented by MASN. Before tossing out the ceremonial first pitch, Dempsey will host an autograph and photo session with from 6pm-6:45pm on the main concourse. Also during the game, the Bulls will wear special edition Red, White and Blue jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit Meals on Wheels.
BULLS PITCHER EARNS DUAL HONORS
Congratulations to Durham Bulls pitcher Jeff Niemann for being selected to play in the 2007 Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game and elected to the International League Squad in the 2007 Triple-A All-Star Game. Jeff will have a busy weekend, playing for the US Team in the Futures Game on Sunday in San Francisco, then flying to Albuquerque, NM for the All-Star Game on Wednesday. Enjoy those frequent flyer miles, Jeff!
HANDKERCHIEF OHJI IS COMING TO DURHAM
Yuki Saito (a.k.a. The Handkerchief Prince), who first gained national prominence throughout Japan as the staff ace for the National Champions, Waseda Jitsugyo High School, was one of 22 players named to the Japanese Collegiate All-Star Roster. They'll face Pedro Alvarez and the USA Baseball National Team beginning on Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4th at 6:00 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Get your tickets now!
TAKE A SWING FOR THE DURHAM RESCUE MISSION
If you've ever wanted to swing for the fences on a professional baseball field, now is your chance. The Durham Bulls will host a special batting practice session for fans on Monday, July 16th at 11:00 AM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. For $100.00 you will receive lunch, warm up in the batting cage, live pitching on the field, and a picture of your practice. Make your dream come true and help build the dream of someone who is hopeless and hurting. All proceeds go to benefit the hopeless and hurting at the Durham Rescue Mission.
THEY'RE BACK! GET YOUR DURHAM BULLS LICENSE PLATE NOW!
The Durham Bulls front office, led by Team Ambassador Bill Law, is in the hunt for 300. No, not 300 wins, but license plates! The Durham Bulls, Major League Baseball and the North Carolina Department of Transportation have agreed to create a special Durham Bulls version of the North Carolina license plate provided the Bulls get the initial commitment of 300 plates.
FIDELITY INVESTMENTS STEPS TO THE PLATE FOR DBYAL
The Durham Bulls and Fidelity Investments are teaming up for sports equipment drives on the four Saturday fireworks nights (June 30th, August 4th, August 18th and September 1st) this season to benefit the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League. Those who donate new or slightly used bats or gloves will receive a commemorative baseball, courtesy of Fidelity and the company's Inspire the Future program.
