Durham, NC - Former Durham Bull Darnell McDonald was 3-5 with a double, home run and five runs batted in as the Rochester Redwings pounded the Durham Bulls, 12-0 on Thursday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Bulls RHP Tony Peguero (0-3) survived the first inning before the floodgates opened. The Mudhens posted five runs in the second inning, another in the third, three in the fourth, a pair in the fifth and a run in the sixth to build their 12-0 advantage. Durham would muster six hits on the night, but Ben Zobrist's double was the only hit for extra bases.
RHP Nick Blackburn (5-1) pitched seven shutout innings for the win. He allowed seven hits and no walks while lowering his ERA to 1.57 on the season. Peguero took the loss allowing 11 runs on nine hits and five walks in four innings of work.
