Idaho Falls Chukars News Release
Idaho Falls, ID - Home after an 11 game road trip, the Chukars looked to start their six game homestand on the right foot. However, it was not to be, as with the game tied at two, the Osprey scored seven unanswered runs, en route to a 10-4 victory over the Chukars. Idaho Falls has lost five in a row and are 0-4 to start the second half.
Missoula opened up the scoring in the first as a one out triple from Cesar Garcia scored on a double from Axel Andueza. Two batters later Liover Peguero doubled into the right field corner, plating Andueza to make it 2-0.
The Chukars though tied the game with single runs in the first and second. Jose Marquez tripled leading off the first, and scored on a single from Clay Dungan. In the second, Tyler James walked and got to third on a double from Marquez. Dungan then hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring James to tie the game.
From there though it was all Missoula. Andueza hit a two run homer in the third inning to put the Osprey in front 4-2. In the fourth inning, the Osprey added on three, and got an additional two runs in the fifth to make it 9-2.
Idaho Falls got a run back in the fifth on a solo homer from Michael Emodi, his eighth of the year, but got no closer than six runs. Missoula scored another run in the seventh on a fielders choice, and the Chukars countered that run with an RBI double from Juan Carlos Negret. That closed the scoring, as the two teams combined for 30.
Tomorrow the Chukars look to even up the series at a game apiece as Alec Marsh takes the hill. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 PM and tickets are still available by visiting ifchukars.com.
