Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

HELENA, MONT - The Missoula Osprey (7-4) head to Great Falls (6-6) for the first time this season to open a two-game series with the Voyagers Thursday from Centene Stadium as first pitch is slated for 7:00 pm. The Osprey come off a series concluding 11-8 defeat at Helena Wednesday.

Missoula tacked on three runs in the third inning to get the scoring underway as Nick Dalesandro singled to open the frame. On the next pitch, Brandon Leyton drilled an RBI triple to score the games first run. Jesus Marriaga followed with an RBI single of his own, and Joe Robbins capped off the scoring when he singled in a run to give the Osprey a 3-0 lead.

Jean Carmona led off the fourth with a triple for Helena, and scored when Chad McClanahan singled to right. Helena tagged on two more runs in the fifth courtesy of an error and RBI singles from Carmona and Jesus Lujano to tie the game at three. However, Missoula's offense broke open in the sixth.

Zac Almond led off the inning and reached first on a dropped third strike while Robbins reached on an error. Dalesandro followed with a two-RBI single to give the Osprey a 5-3 lead. One run scored on an error, while a Marriaga single pushed Missoula ahead 7-3 heading into the seventh.

With two outs, Je'Von Ward, Lujano, and Yeison Coca all singled to load the bases for Helena. Carmona put a ball in play and forced a Missoula error to score two runs, and McClanahan walked to reload the bases. Nick Egnatuk then unloaded with a bases clearing double to give the Brewers their first lead 8-7. Missoula tied the game when Leyton drove an RBI single to right in the eighth.

Pablo Abreu singled to start the bottom of the inning for Helena, and was followed by a Lujano walk. With the game tied, Coca drove a two-RBI triple to left-centerfield and the Brewers pulled in front 10-8. Helena added another run on a Carmona single to win 11-8.

On the mound Thursday for the Osprey is right-hander Jacob Stevens. The Boston College product starts for the first time in his career, and makes his second professional appearance. Stevens tossed two-thirds of an inning June 22 vs. Great Falls, allowing one run. His opposition is righty Jason Bilous of Great Falls.

Bilous is set to log his third start on the season. The Coastal Carolina product has two starts, giving up a combined four earned runs in four and a third innings.

Thursday's first pitch is slated for 7:00 pm from Centene Stadium. The Selway Armory Pregame Show begins at 6:45 p.m. on ESPN 102.9 and the MiLB First Pitch App.
