Open House Happens this Saturday

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes players will take the field for the first time together this season for the Goldeyes Open House on Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fans can stop by Shaw Park as early as 10 a.m. to pick up individual game tickets and watch the Goldeyes' first day of training camp. Players will be on the field and fans can watch for free as they perform batting, pitching and in/outfield drills.

Goldeyes prize packages will be drawn every hour throughout the day and the first 1,500 people to arrive at the ballpark will receive a free hotdog and Pepsi pop. Fans can also sign up at the Subway Fan Services Booth for a free behind-the-scenes tour of the concourse, press boxes, dugouts and Goldeyes clubhouse, and check out the new merchandise at the Goldeyes Dugout Souvenir Store. Kids attending the Open House aged 15 and under can sign up for Goldie's Home Run Gang membership for free game tickets, fun contest, field trips with Goldie and chances to win prizes.

"This is the annual unofficial start to the season and we look forward seeing our fans back at Shaw Park," Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said.

TSN Radio 1290's "Illegal Curve Hockey Show" will be broadcasting live at Shaw Park from noon to 3 p.m.

Fans that have purchased mini packs can pick them up in person between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Shaw Park ticket office.

Fans looking to purchase season tickets and nine-game mini packs for the 2012 season can call the Goldeyes office at 982-BASE (2273) or visit the Shaw Park box office.
