EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (9-5) defeated the South Bay Lakers (7-7), 127-121, on Saturday afternoon in El Segundo.

In a closely contested matchup at the UCLA Health Training Center, the Ontario Clippers managed to secure a hard-fought victory against the South Bay Lakers, clinching a Wild Card spot in the NBA G League Showcase Championship tournament with a final score of 127-121.

Despite a resilient effort from South Bay, the Ontario Clippers proved their determination to secure the win and move on to the Winter Showcase Championship Cup. Brandon Boston Jr. led the Clippers in scoring with an outstanding 32-point performance. Jordan Miller closely followed that with a significant 29 points and 5 rebounds, and Bryson Williams added 9 points and 7 rebounds. Xavier Moon and George King had a crucial 13 points each.

The Clippers displayed efficient shooting, with a team average of 46.9% (45-for-96) from the field, 35.3% (12-for-34) from beyond the arc, and 77.8% (14-for-18) from the free-throw line. The game featured 17 lead changes and 10 ties, underscoring the back-and-forth nature of the battle. Both teams had moments of dominance, but the Clippers capitalized on crucial opportunities towards the end of the fourth quarter, securing the win on South Bay's home court.

For the South Bay Lakers, Louis King led the team's scoring with 34 points, on an impressive 80% (12-for-15) shooting from the field and 77% (7-for-9) from three, while Shaquille Harrison had an exceptional all-around game, tallying 25 points to go along with his 10 rebounds and 14 assists. Colin Castleton recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and D'Moi Hodge and Maxwell Lewis combined for 21 points.

The Clippers' efficiency and ability to execute down the stretch ultimately secured their 127-121 victory, securing the big win for Ontario as they move on to chase back-to-back Showcase Cup Championship titles.
