Lancaster Stormers News Release

Bryan Pounds evened this weekend's, and the season's, series against the Lancaster Barnstormers with one swing of the bat Saturday evening.

The York third baseman launched a grand slam onto the left field hillside in the top of the sixth inning to send the Revolution to a 4-1 victory over the Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

York and Lancaster stand tied at 10 games each in the 2015 War of the Roses with eight games left to play.

Mikey Reynolds opened the sixth with a single up the middle off Bryan Morgado (0-5) and moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Wilson Valdez. Morgado walked the next two batters to fill the bases and was replaced by Kyle Simon. Pounds worked ahead of Simon, 2-0, then hammered the next pitch well over the wall in left for the only York runs of the night.

Lancaster had grabbed a 1-0 lead off Logan Williamson (4-6) in the lower half of the fifth. Anderson Feliz led off with a triple belted into the left center field alley. One out later, he scored on a high chopper to the right side of the infield from Zach Collier.

Former San Francisco Giants and New York Mets left-hander Pat Misch made the start for the Barnstormers and spun a one-hitter for five innings in his Atlantic League debut. Feliz started two double plays behind the southpaw, who left after 65 pitches. Misch had been pitching for Class AAA New Orleans in the Florida Marlins organization.

Williamson was also lifted after five, allowing three hits and the run. York's bullpen did not allow a hit in four innings of relief. Stephen Penney retired the side in order in the ninth for his third save.

The rubber game of the series will come up on Sunday afternoon. Lancaster will send Shunsuke Watanabe (4-3) to the hill against fellow right-hander Matt Neil (2-6). Fans may tune into 1390-AM, WLAN; rumba1390.com or the I Heart Radio cell phone app, starting at 12:45.

NOTES: The game was the 21st time this season the Barnstormers have collected five or fewer hits...Misch was the 50th player to get into a game for the Barnstormers this season and the 51st on the active roster...Marcus Walden pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth to extend his scoreless innings streak to 16 1/3...He received help from Luke Hughes on a leaping stop at third with two runners in scoring position.
