
Patriots Rally Past Ducks with 7-5 Win

Central Islip, NY - The Somerset Patriots (5-5, 55-25) rallied past the Long Island Ducks (5-4, 51-28) to win 7-5 Saturday evening at Bethpage Ballpark.
In the top of the first inning Somerset scored four times to take a 4-0 lead. Right fielder Michael Burgess drew a bases loaded walk, designated hitter Mat Gamel clubbed a RBI sacrifice fly and a pair of runs scored on third baseman Cody Puckett's throwing error.
Left fielder Steve McQuail pounded a two run home run (3) to cut the deficit in half at 4-2 in the bottom of the second inning.
Shortstop Robert Andino committed a throwing error in the bottom of the sixth inning that led to a Long Island run making the score 4-3.
McQuail drilled another home run (4) to give the Flock a 5-4 advantage in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Patriots rallied for a three two out runs in the top of the ninth inning as left fielder Aharon Eggleston blooped a two RBI double and catcher David Vidal sliced a RBI double.
Anthony Collazo earned the win (3-0) in relief. Ryan Kussmaul sustained the loss (3-1) as he also blew the save. Jon Hunton notched the save (20) pitching the final frame.
