DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs (5-20) dropped the final game of the series to the Omaha Storm Chasers (11-16), falling 6-4 on Thursday afternoon at Principal Park. The Storm Chasers used their solid hitting to string together four-straight innings of scoring.

After a couple of solid defensive plays in the first two innings from the I-Cubs, Omaha took the lead in the third as Ramon Torres ripped a single to left field to bring in Humberto Arteaga from third, scoring the first run of the game.

Omaha continued to hit the ball well, scoring in the fourth and fifth. Arteaga collected an RBI in the fourth before Frank Schwindel mashed a homerun in the fifth to end Michael Roth's day as the Storm Chasers took at 3-0 lead.

Iowa fought back in the bottom of the fifth as a Ryan Court three-run blast to deep right-center field tied the game. Omaha would retake the edge immediately with a two-run sixth as Adalberto Mondessi popped an opposite field home run, putting the Storm Chasers up 5-3.

The Cubs used a brief moment of sunshine to help them record a run in the eighth inning as Chris Gimenez hit a sky-high pop up to center field. The Storm Chasers couldn't locate the ball and let it fall, scoring Mark Zagunis from second base.

The Storm Chasers managed to pick up an insurance run in the top of the ninth, but it wouldn't matter as the I-Cubs struck out in order to end the game.

The Iowa Cubs will hit the road to start a four-game series with the Round Rock Express tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT and will feature righty Alec Mills (0-4, 5.66) vs. lefty David Ledbetter (0-3, 5.27).
