Isotopes Blow Past Rainiers, 12-3

TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (12-14) lost to the Albuquerque Isotopes (12-15) by a final score of 12-3 on Wednesday night at Cheney Stadium.

Left fielder Jayson Werth posted his first multi-hit performance in a Rainiers uniform, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Tacoma's only other runs came on a solo home run from center fielder John Andreoli (1x3, R, HR, RBI, BB) and an RBI single from center fielder Ian Miller (1x2, RBI).

Tacoma starter Roenis Elias allowed four runs on six hits over 3.0 innings of work and was saddled with the loss. He struck out two and walked one on 51 pitches (33 strikes).

Darin Gillies, who was promoted from Double-A Arkansas earlier in the day, made his Triple-A debut in relief and allowed one run on one hit over 2.0 innings.

The Rainiers and Isotopes wrap up their series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. PT with a pitching matchup between Tacoma left-hander Ariel Miranda (1-0, 6.39) and Albuquerque lefty Brett Oberholtzer (0-1, 6.75).
