Olkinuora Heads to St. John's Following Hutchinson Recall

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced that goaltender Jussi Olkinuora has been recalled to the St. John's IceCaps following the call-up of former Reign goaltender Michael Hutchinson to the Winnipeg Jets.

Olkinuora, 23, is in his rookie debut with Ontario and has a 12-11-1 record, 3.06 goals-against average, and .882 save percentage in 25 games. The Helsinki, Finland native earned his second professional shutout on February 14, 2014 against the Las Vegas Wranglers with a 4-0 win. Olkinuora earned his first professional shutout with the IceCaps with a 3-0 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs exactly two months before on December 14, 2013.

The 6-foot-2 netminder appeared in nine games with St. John's before his assignment to Ontario. In that time he had a 3.16 goals-against average, a .893 save percentage, and a 4-3-1 record.
